NEWS
June 2008 -- It's been an exciting spring at Janssen
Performance Horses!
In addition to being in the middle of a successful
show season, the past
30-days have seen a flurry of media attention, starting with an
article in
the national magazine, Fortune Small Business, and Bob and Smart
Chicaway's
national Equi-Stat rankings announced in Quarter Horse News.
Tomorrow (Friday June 27, 2008), Todd Walker
and KMSP/Fox9 News are coming out for a shoot
which will air on Fox's popular Sunday Morning show sometime between
7 and 9
a.m. this Sunday. The shoot tomorrow will consist of three parts:
Bob
providing a cutting demonstration, an interview with Bob, and finally
Todd
trying out cutting himself. The focus will be on the rapidly growing
sport
of cutting, and it's appeal/presence in Minnesota.

front page article in the Star by Northstarmedia.net -- go to http://northstarmedia.net/star/STARIssues_files/stm032608-102-26.pdf for page 1 and page 18. Go Ryan!
May 2008 -- The Minnesota Cutting Horse Association
descended upon Ogden, Utah and the NCHA Western Nationals with a
relatively small contingent, but were hugely competitive!
JP Bell kicked off the club's success by earning a berth in the
$3,000 Novice Horse finals riding White Cat Olena owned by Mark
Lundeen. Bob Janssen rode Smart Chicaway to a finals entry, then
earned Top Ten status with his finals ride. Ryan Lind followed in
Bob's footsteps, riding Sunny Rey Solano to a Top Ten finish in
an extremely competitive and high-scoring Junior Youth class. South
Dakota resident (and MCHA member) Shannon McCoy took reserve champion
honors in the Junior Youth.
Kristin Lundeen piloted Honest as Karl to a finals-qualifying run
in the 10,000 amatuer. Mark Blackwell did the same on Smart Chicaway
in the $2,000 Limited Rider. And finally, Gary Hansen, riding Kit
Duals Altismo, rode to reserve champion in the $20,000 Non-Pro.
The $20,000 Non-Pro was actually won by Sandra Azinger, SD resident
and MCHA member riding Rolladecker. Patti Blackwell, Leigh Gall,
Anita Janssen and Mark Lundeen also showed.

Spring 2008: All is well at JPH, the barn is busy
and gearing up for show season. We're fortunate to have a number
of outstanding 2-year-old and 3-year-old prospects in training,
as well as some
exciting show horses. Breeding mares have started to arrive for
their dates
with Smart Chicaway, and his offspring are doing outstanding in
the showpen. Bob has several exciting Chicaway 3-year-olds that
he can't
wait to show in this fall's futurities.
